Its 01.30 AM. But time can not interfere in my job if I am interested in it. That should be one's spirit that whatever the time is, if he has passion for a particular thing, he must do it. And this is the spirit that I work with. This spirit is tried and tested by me. It will take you up. Believe me!
Moving on to the activity. 13 odd students were present. I don't know where the remaining 17 were. But to inform the unknown seventeens, we started with two activities simultaneously. One was COMPARING A PROGRAMME and the other one was poetry writing.
The current 8th class batch is going to have many and many opportunities in the comparing department, is what I predict. So comparing is the need of the hour for this batch. Three major functions require comparing the most - House function, Independence Day and the Annual Day. So the next mission of this literary club is to prepare students for comparing. Believe me, this will definitely help you in the long run.
And in poetry writing, I gave the topic "Happiness" and to be specific to rhyme scheme - "abab" or "abcb"! This is a good way of channelizing your thoughts.
I must confess that I haven't read the poems. But I have made some notes while you were comparing. Please don't feel bad. Think it more of as a way to improve.
VIII-A
1. Kushneet - Very loud. (Beginnings should be soft bu with force). Do not speak with a different accent. Speak as you speak with your friends. Don't give too much of pauses. You need to focus on your voice modulation. (Don't worry, we'd help you out)
2. Aditi - Voice modulation strictly needed. And it was blank. As if reading a book just for the sake of it. Bring force when you speak.
3. Mughda - Good pauses. Should be more forceful. And should also know when to be fast and when to slow down. Overall, Excellent Mughda. You have potential. Keep it up!
4. Vrinda - Vrinda, all I want to say is RELAX!!!. Don;t run. Take your time. Feel what you say and say what you feel. You were very fast. Impact is lost when you run away. My final verdict, don't worry All is well :) . Just speak with pauses and slowly slowly. We will tell you how!
VIII-B
5. Siddharth - Be natural with your accent. Be a little soft.
6. Shivam - You were very fast. Take your time. Speak with full feel of the content. Modulate your voice. You can improve. And we will together do that.
7. Shubhangi - Please slow down. Be a little more forceful. Should know where to pause. And overall, yes, you can improve and make it.
VIII-C
8. Raji - Be forceful. Modulate voice. Personally, what I think is that you can do it. Practice and exposure is what you need!
9. Ekjot - Please be forceful. Modulate your voice. Don't read a textbook. Speak it more formally. But I liked your voice!
10. Simratpal - You were very fast. Impact was lost. But the pauses were correct.
VIII-D
11. Mridul - Very fast. But you were forceful. Thats good. Improve pauses.
12. Adish - Liked your voice. But it must be bolder. Improve pauses! Wanted to know, why aren't you interested in comparing?
13. Stuti - Good force. Improve pauses. You have scope.
This brings me to the end of my comments. Now some
GENERAL NOTIFICATIONS.
1. Activity related - A common conclusion can be drawn out that most of you lack modulation and pause ability. These can only be improved when you listen well in functions and major celebrations of school events. I mean to say that listen to people comparing. Listen how they give pause, how they raise their voices when the school magazine has to be launched and keep a medium voice during shabad. Look at their facial expressions. These are some of the serious advices I would like to give. And if you listen to every comparing and even try imitating that in your own language, I bet you will succeed. I mean, I never knew what comparing was until I saw some house functions and annual days. From those events, i learned where to give pause, when to look up, when to read, what should be the posture. Every little thing matters in the process of perfection. I hope you'd implement. Another problem is diction and pronunciation. Come on guys, you are in eighth now. To be precise you are in the literary club now. Atleast keep a check on pronunciation. |SUBLIME| this is the word which most of you pronounced wrong.
2. A new contest - Whoever will perform the given activity better than the rest, (1 nominated by me and 1 by Manmeet) will get a chance to author the blog along with us for a week or a fortnight. You will be given special details about a secret username and password.
3. A special announcement - 2 students of this club, I find them dedicated to improve. One is Vrinda. Her passion for improvement is quite evident in her comments on our posts. So Vrinda is the first co author of our blog. Vrinda to contact me separately as soon as she reads the message. The second member is Aditi. She approached me personally on how to improve speaking skills. This is called true passion. Aditi will be rewarded surely. But unfortunately, its pending for now. Well done Vrinda and Aditi. This club needs members like you. Keep it up.
4. Join Online - 13 followers out of which 4 are not in our club. Rather 6 including me and Manmeet. so only 7 people of literary club are actually following the blog. I request you all to invite friends and follow us. Don't just read the blog. Make a user ID on blogspot by creating an ID on gmail. Follow us in our list. We will update the blog regulary and make some advanced graphical changes including the introduction of literary gadgets only if you people join and remain connected online. I want atleast 25 of the 30 members to be here.
With this, I sign off. Hope you will ponder and implement. Its 2.20 Am. My eyes are filled with water beacuse of the yorning. Will do anything for you people. All you have to do is to just show me that you have that passion. Rest, its our job, we will lead you. Take you to a better world.
